julie's story

A little over 4 months ago, my husband and I were feeling helpless and desperate in regards to our son's health.  We were hopeful but never knew what a drastic change our son would have both physically and emotionally.  It has been worth every penny we have spent because we know the "payout" from this investment, which is our son's health is what matters.  We can't wait to see the results of his progress next month when we get his retest results back.  I am thankful and blessed that our path lead to your office.  Thanks to all the staff there for helping us on this journey.

anna's story

It all began suddenly in the fall.  After three rounds of antibiotics to treat a severe respiratory illness, I could no longer eat without becoming horribly ill.  In the coming year I saw ten different doctors and underwent every major test (including surgery) to try and locate a cause for my discomfort and pain.  By the following fall, I had lost over 30 lbs. and was no closer to learning a cause than I had been the year before.  I lived in fear every day - hardly leaving my home or couch.  What was causing my symptoms?  Was I really sick or was it all in my head?  I decided to try a gluten-free diet out of desperation.  While the diet had an incredibly positive impact on my discomfort, I was still not well.  I attended an open house for Dr. Gladd simply hoping to gain more information about gluten-free living.  However, after talking briefly with him, I felt so encouraged by his insights that I scheduled an appointment with him.

I have been working with Dr. Gladd for 5 months now, and the impact that his treatment has had on my health has been monumental.  He explained to me what was going on in my body and why I was having the symptoms I did.  For the first time in over a year, I understood the cause of my illness.  Today, I can eat throughout the day with no pain or discomfort!  On the rare occasion when I have a reaction, I am no longer afraid because I know what the cause is and I know how to deal with it!

Dr. Gladd has given me hope for my future; a hope that through eating whole foods and avoiding certain allergens, I can get well!  Thank you Dr. Gladd for taking such interest in this field and for shedding light on such an important part of our daily lives: our nutrition.

kim's story

Dear Dr. Gladd,

I have been receiving emails from you for a while now.  Each time I receive an update I want to sit down and tell you how you've helped our family.

I went to one and only one of your gluten free meetings.  I sat back and listened to everyone talk and then I ask you a question about my daughter, Megan.  Megan is 7 years old and has Celiac.  Megan wasn't able to have regular bowel movements.  We had been giving her Miralax everyday and she still wasn't able to go potty.  I asked about that and you told me that we were masking a problem.  I'm sure you don't remember me, but I actually burst into tears when I was talking.  You told me that you would like to see Megan.  We actually never got to that stage.  I called her doctor at Riley and made an appointment.

Her original appointment was scheduled for November 5, 2010.  Megan started randomly vomiting and I called her doctor and said we can't wait.  Dr. Molleston got us in right away on October 19, 2010.  This was the day they realized Megan had Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. She was pretty advanced at stage three.  She actually had a huge tumor wrapped around her intestines.

They didn't hesitate with Megan.  We immediately met a surgeon, they did a biopsy, put in her port and instantly we were thrown into the world of cancer.   As horrible as it seems I was happy to FINALLY figure out what was going on with my daughter.  Nobody wants to have cancer but if you do have it you want to know and catch it as early as possible.  I am sooooooo happy I  went to that meeting that day.  It was the slap in the face that I needed!  I knew in my heart something wasn't right.  I actually felt it!!!!

I have been meaning to say THANK YOU for such a loooooong time.  Life is still very crazy and her treatment is VERY intense.  It stinks, actually!!!!  BUT...we are in treatment and she IS going to beat this cancer!!!!!!

THANK YOU for being that voice!!!!!!!

Kim
